website & honeymoon registry

So, what do you think - MarnieAndJames.com is available. Should I buy it? Or JamesAndMarnie.com? Have any other suggestions for domain names?

Also, I did a quick search on honeymoon registry. Should we sign up with a travel agent? Here's an example registry of a couple's trip to New Zealand and Australia. Seems neat. But I wonder... if we only got a little bit paid for via the registry, would we still go all-out and do the big plan? What if only a couple of people do the honeymoon registry, and everyone else goes for the more conventional registry? And which registry would be best, in terms of fees, etc? Denise, if you see any advice/articles out there about this, let me know.

honeyluna.com is a bay area company. so that might be a good one to go with. on theknot.com you can register for anything, literally - but what you're registering for is american express gift cards, and they come with a $5 fee (for the gift giver) which kinda sucks. But most honeymoon registries seem to charge a fee (I've seen around 9%) either to the gifter or the giftee...

also on the topic of registries, REI gives 100% refunds, no questions asked. good to know. :-)

Doing a conventional store registry (brick and mortar) a lot of times they will even give you something just for registering. There's no minimum and you don't necessarily have to even tell anyone you registered there so think about that. I guess you need to decide what your priority is here. That one link was cute but I bet it just translates into cash, doesn't it? It seems like a big commitment to be booking tours and helicopter rides and such. Maybe you do, but then you may not be getting the best deals.

Irene & Vik registered at REI. I bought them a dog pack and a utility knife. Nice, and I know they are using that more than any stupid china.;-)

VERY pretty and earth-friendly housewares. Maybe you could do that and then, I don't know, Macy's or Bloomingdale's, or REI. but still, skip the china patterns and the silver. I'm still planning on buying secondhand at some point when I have space to entertain. It hasn't happened yet. Or there is always mom's blue rose china : http://www.robbinsnest.com/DinnerwareTableware/RoyalKent/bluerose.html
